RE: Porting number to Packetel?
Packetel does not allow porting of number. When you signup for their service, they will issue you a fax number according to what they have.

I don't think fax service have the porting option like cell phone.
I think they buy a bunch of number and sale those number back.
I know this is probably off topic, but can I take their number once I leave their service?
Packetel will assign you a fax number, but the number is randomly pick from their database.
Yeah, the number is randomly pick from their system, but I was able to change to some nice number when I called their support line. If you want a nice number, call their support line. Their staff is really helpful.

When you leave Packetel fax service, they will take back the number and reassign it to another customer.
